Tutoring Staff

Tutors are screened via an application process including national background checks of both criminal and sex offenders registries, conducted by Intellicorp©. Tutors are given training in learning styles and inquiry-based learning techniques, and are also trained in school district specific teaching and instruction frameworks.

Tutoring staff is locally recruited from:

  • Business
  • Community-At-Large
  • Parents
  • High-performing Students
  • Local Organizations (Rotary, Kiwanis, PTA, etc.)
  • Community College and local University teaching programs

 

Join Our Staff of Volunteers

The Buckley Tutoring Program thanks you for your interest in joining us as a volunteer. As a volunteer, you are special. The time you offer is a gift to our community. You bring unique talents, skills and energy to our students. To proceed, please complete the application (which includes your statement of voluntary disclosure and authorization for Village Tutors to perform its mandatory background check of all applicants) and return the completed document to the address below. You may view, print, or save a copy of these instructions and/or the application form from our web site. You may also pick-up a paper copy of the Application and Disclosure Form from a participating school site or one of our drop-in tutoring centers.

Step 1: Complete and return the Volunteer Application and Disclosure Form.
Step 2: The Buckley Tutoring Program conducts its mandatory background check for all volunteer applicants.
Step 3: The Buckley Tutoring Program has the sole discretionary right to deny approval of any volunteers within its program.
