Village Tutors Logo Buckley Logo

Our goal is to provide students desiring to improve their in-class performance a broad range of tutoring that spans multiple subjects and learning disciplines, including: Math; Science; English; History; Reading; Spanish; Social Studies; as well as classroom and home Study Skills. With three venues available, our program is flexible enough to work with any schedule.

Drop-In Centers

We have three drop-in centers for tutoring. These centers are open to all students in grades K-12 residing in the Enumclaw and White River School Districts. The centers are open during regular school terms.

The tutoring centers are set up in a coffee house style to provide a comfortable learning environment with refreshments.

Each center has a computer lab available with Internet access for students to prepare and print homework assignments and to do research.

Adult tutors are present during all scheduled hours.

Virtual Campus

We have established a Virtual Campus accessible via our website. After free registration, students can log into the campus and seek help from class forums or directly from any subject matter tutors available during the time they log-in. If they need help beyond the forums and there is not a tutor currently available online, they can submit a request for help and a tutor will contact them via e-mail within 48 hours.

School District Extended Learning Program

The School Districts launched a program (Fall 2007) to provide an after school study environment at each of the secondary schools. This program has two primary goals:

1. Help middle school students improve their math and writing skills (key components of the WASL).

2. Assist students in middle and high school with credit retrieval (retaking courses they have failed, to recover credits for graduation).

One struggle the district faces with this effort is staffing. Our program directly assists the effort by providing tutors to supplement the district teachers.

*Note: While service for our tutors is free, the School District requires a $40 fee for each Extended Learning Program session ($20 if qualified for a scholarship).
